Not a peep from live BBC TV on this story. Instead we had everyone and their dog whinging about Tory donor Frank Hester saying Diane Abbott should be shot. Ms Abbott is loudly milking her victim status, therefore making half the country secretly agree with Mr Hester.

I find it sad how short people's memories are. Abbott was best buddies with Bernie Grant, one of the biggest racists on the planet, said white EU citizens shouldn't be given NHS jobs, supported the IRA and got suspended last year for saying that the racism suffered by Jews and other minority groups was no as bad as that experienced by black people. Hester's comments were stupid but not in the same league as some of the bile spewed out by Abbott over the years.

Sometimes people's memories are too long - Hester's comments that the Guardian dug up were made five years ago.
BTW, the insurgents are still occupying yesterday's captured territory. There are reports of thousands of Navalny sympathisers joining The Free Russia Legion, one of the insurgent militias. Russian media has stated that they were repulsed.

Yes I know, that's why I qualified the comment with "live BBC TV".
I would consider it a more newsworthy story than what the Guardian wrote about what a Tory donor said in an admittedly crass and ill-advised "joke" nearly five years ago.
