Tough 1 (26 August)

Post by DaisyNinjaGirl »

(I'm feeling a little quiz deprived!)

1 Which writer had a childhood doll called She-who-must-be-obeyed?
2 In which Asian country is high-altitude mountaineering banned?
3 What is assessed by the Martindale rub test?
4 Which woman founded the Second Order of Saint Francis?
5 Which director has made more money from wine than his films?
6 What took Ellen MacArthur 71 days, 14 hours, 18 minutes and 33 seconds?
7 The UN headquarters was built on land donated by which family?
8 The only blue plaque in Barking celebrates which footballer?

1 Which writer had a childhood doll called She-who-must-be-obeyed? I shall guess Rider Haggard

2 In which Asian country is high-altitude mountaineering banned? Bhutan?

6 What took Ellen MacArthur 71 days, 14 hours, 18 minutes and 33 seconds? Circumnavigation of the world in her boat which amazed me with its speed at the time and still does now.

7 The UN headquarters was built on land donated by which family? Rockefeller

These questions are getting more difficult or I am getting stupider in old age probably both. I used to know a few or even sort of think I knew something towards the answer but these days entire toughs go by when I know none of them.

Disney princesses husbands what was that about I was looking forward to it being something about adam ant Kris Kristofferson etc.
