... anything you have made with your own fair hands.

I taught myself to knit about eight years ago and knitted like a demon, it really obsessed me for a while.

I'll get back to it some day! Have enough wool to start a wool shop I reckon...

The first thing I knitted were cardigans for Maisie:

Getting slightly bigger - baby cardie - sadly still unworn, but I live in hopes

a strange waistcoat thing for me

I'd love pictures of Things We Have Made - any kind of arts and crafts!

With a nod to William Morris - as suggested by OC ;)

Hmmm. I love making things. You might end up with pictures of my curtains and cushions. And roman blinds that I'm proud of! 🤣 I'll find something a bit more original to show

I can only do plain knitting and perling in rectangle shapes and not all the twisty bits. I had a knitting ring thing that made sock sized round things so my dolls had lots of scarves and hats.

My mum made all my curtains but they don't photograph very well. When I got my house we went to debenhams and got end of roll velvets for living room and bought lining and they last forever if you get good lined curtains. Velvet was very expensive even back then but they don't make it now its some plastic blend which isn't as nice as decided by furbies even for the hundreds of pounds they charge.

Ok, so here is one of the curtains and matching cushion I made for my office, and a roman blind I made for the hall. There is a matching one on the landing but the window isn't as nice 🤣

And there are more.... ⚠️cuteness overload incoming ⚠️ I made all Johnny's costumes required for school... here are 2 to be going on with...a bee (God knows why they all had to be insects) and Woody, though I only made the waistcoat. If you can stomach these, there are others!

Its easier on a PC as can just turn head round. Trickier on a tablet need to concentrate hard not to move hands and tablet too but I have seen the pictures.

What lovely stained glass windows even before the curtains. And lucky child having costumes made for it schools do assume parents will do things like that now don't they. Even slight deviation from school uniform made teachers so cross in my day dread to think what full fancy dress would have made them think.

Thank you Furby. Another issue is that you often got really short notice which is hard when you are working and you don't want your kid to be the odd one out! Here is my favourite costume I made for him. It was for a performance at the local theatre and he was a circus strong man.... poor kid 🤣

Omg Johnny is adorable!!! 🥰🥰

My mom used to make my costumes too, I need to find the pic where I dressed up as a garden gnome at age four or something. 🤣🤣

Meanwhile I am giving you the infamous ONE SOCK I knitted. It shall forever remain single...probably like it's owner. 🤪🤣

A single sock that large is perfect for Christmas. Or you could use it for keeping one foot warm. :)

Here's Johnny the right way up, seeing this is Diana's favourite costume pic of him! I hope they had the heating on in the theatre if the performance was in winter.

This is an artwork from my German homework many years ago made with my felt pens. I found it while looking for another thing still hiding from me if it still exists. No idea if the words are even right as I forgot it all. As you can see I was a better artist in those days.

Furby, I think that's jolly good! The words look OK to me, especially Weinachtsstollen. :D

We never did anything like that in German at school - just as well as I was a lost cause so far as drawing was concerned.

This weekends look in furbies archives is home made candles. My mum bought a kit in the 1970s when England was deep in power cuts and we couldn't buy any candles. Then she was very very cross when a good pan was ruined. The kit remained unused for years and later when charity shops were a thing she bought a sacrificial pan and we used up the remaining ingredients before throwing kit out. The square ones were the official kit mould and the round ones we used yoghurt pots or similar and remember those mouse pots the little red one. The brown ones are all the leftover wax mixed together. If anyone ever considers making candles my advise would be just buy some they aren't that dear now and less bother.
