Are you writing at present? (Chat about our stories)

Post by TRavine »

So here's my good news :D My time travel piece is done and basically through most of the editing process now, I have a missing scene from "Break of Dawn" I will probably post sometime in the near future AND I have actually managed the first 3000 words of an idea for another slow-burn I'll be working on. Could take a while, but at least I managed to get it started!

Anything you're working on atm?

I started to write my The Nightdress story and it's only half. It's stopped in place where Margaret seduce John before dinning. 😁 Yet today while I worked I thought about my "A marriage of convenience" story idea about details and now I know that will be very dramatic. I will a little torture our lovebirds, but with HEA of course. 😏 But before this I'll be writing one-shots yet and then I'll be turn to my multichapters story ideas. It's all look that! 😃❤️

:lol Forsteeriana, you have a wonderful way with words. And I LOVE the sound of your stories!

Tom, wow, so much inspiration has struck you during our three-day absence. I can't wait!

My Time Travel is really sort of done. I am 34,000 words into a slow-burn which needs a few more chapters. And I want some more ideas for short ones. Don't we have a Christmas collab idea on the back burner?

I hope mimosa comes back as I have sort of incorporated something she suggested into the slow-burn and I want to cover her in kisses!

I'm baaaaaaaaaaack!!!!

Looking forward to your story, Merry. I'm looking forward to EVERYONE's stories!

I just got a copy of Pack Clouds Away by Lucy Stone from someone on FF. I found it on some site. Were any of you on C19 some years ago? I wasn't and now it's shut down, so I feel like I have missed a load of N&S fanfiction.

No, I wasn't too and I didn't know about it before at all. Sad that it it close because of N&S fanfics. 🥺 But there's Ao3 and FF.net so it's not so bad! 😁

Haha, thank you, merry. 😂 Yeah, I have and glad that you like my wonderful way with words and how I write my stories. There will be more of them! 😁

I thought about my Snowing In story idea which will be like Christmas story, but still need to think details, but I agree with this idea! 😃 :cuddle

From what I have gathered, it was a N&S related board that had lots of fanfic. It closed some years ago and is only accessible to the peole who were already registered. I have this terrible gut feeling that there are fics on there, which can't be found anywhere else and the thought makes me want to cry!!!

It's like there's a party going on somewhere and we're not invited, isn't it. I felt like that about it since I heard of it and that it had 'closed its doors'. It's a strange concept to me to want to lock things away where only the Chosen can go. But maybe they had problems with trolls or something.

OK so I awoke with this image in mind..

Snowed In at Christmas - Mr Thornton looks out of the window at Marlborough House. The mill yard is covered in snow. Whose small, trim figure is that entering the gate? it is his beloved, Margaret Hale, who spurned him once - he carries a deep tragedy in his heart to this day. Oh no! she faints! right into a snowdrift! In two bounds he crosses the room, runs down the stairs, crunches through the snow, and picks up her light body - she nestles sweetly unconscious against his manly chest - he strides with her through the mill yard, up the stairs and...

Whaddya think :lol

I love your snowing scene, Merry! Please add to it!

I have an idea for Nightdress, and I am trying to finish a one-shot that I started before school started again. I work six days a week because on Saturdays, we give free English classes for the parents of our immigrant students.

I wasn't on C19, and it closed a few years ago. I know there are tons of fanfics on there that are not published elsewhere. I did read that a number of the authors moved their stories over to fanfiction and to AO3. Maybe we are not missing out on too many wonderful stories.

The story, Pack Clouds Away, was mentioned, and I must say, it is extraordinary. The author shared it with me a few years ago because I could not get on C19, but with the promise that I would never share it. I have encouraged her to publish it on Amazon. It is that good.

I also read N and S on Wattpad, and I have read a few stories on Live Journal.

I am enjoying reading the stories that the talented authors on this forum have written. Some of them, I have read more than once and enjoyed them all the more the second time. Such fun to have a community of writers for our favorite period story.

Welcome back Annabella! I missed you so much. "I work six days a week because on Saturdays, we give free English classes for the parents of our immigrant students." - fantastic thing to do. And giving up your Saturdays for it too. :cuddle

Just the title 'Pack Clouds Away' made me shiver. Why do people withold their stories from us? why????

I'm especially interested in the "and..." 😂😂😂
I was thinking in the night that it would go one of four ways:
  • Mr Thornton lays Margaret gently down on the sofa and nobly sends for the maids to tend to her, retiring to his room for a spot of Plato
  • Margaret awakes to find Mr Thornton leaning over her, "let me just help you out of those wet things, my dear"...
  • the X-rated version
  • the Seb loses all her friends version  :-P
To be serious, yes I'm going to write it though there are practical problems with it! Why is John alone at MH? (essential) won't Mr Hale be worrying when she doesn't come back home and how would they get him a message? If they can get him a message, M can get home, can't she? just some of the things going round in my head...

Seb, just write all of them!!!!! (Except maybe for the one where he leaves her for Plato 😂)

Just kill off Mrs Thornton and Fanny, like I did in FtA, for exactly that reason. 😂😂 No wait, I'm just kidding!!! Maybe Fanny is already married and Mrs Thornton is visiting her or something like that?
And Margaret could be so weak that she can't go back home and they'll just send a messenger to Mr Hale. But then, they'd also have to call for Dr Donaldson.

:lol

I was thinking only yesterday of your introduction to FtA when you put something like 'I have killed off Mrs T and Fanny for... reasons....' and at the time I thought you meant 'because I don't like them' but actually it was a very sad and poignant reason wasn't it, leading to the scene where he tells M about it, which was so moving I think I cried. (where is the cry smilie, fgs, I have 'ordered in' some more :)

Nawww you remember that introduction? 😍🤗
Yes, sometimes you have to make sacrifices for the greater good of the story, I suppose.

Busy Millers this morning! Pippa has posted more of wonderful Rhythm of Life, and Tom 'In the Still of the Night'- a super piece of - he called it 'smut' but it's way more than smut. Sweet and hot. :loveeyes

I have got absolutely nothing done this morning other than read posts and stories. (What a lovely way to spend a day.)

We're only 11 stories short of cracking 400 on AO3 now!!!

Can we do it until Christmas? The challenge is on! We can do it with one-shots, if need be.

My slow-burn draft is progressing nicely btw! I haven't got much of a clue where this is going, so I guess I'll find out as I write, lol.

I don't know how to quote from two replies (I was trying to add Merry's as well)

If you want Pack Clouds Away, you have to message Rachel Smith Cobleigh on FF. Here's what she sent me. And from what I can gather, it is written in such a style as to be as close to EG's writing...it looks pretty amazing. I have only started it, because I've been reading other stuff. I found it somewhere else.

"Hi ME,
Sure, I can share Pack Clouds Away with you; Lucy Stone has given her permission. :) I'll need to send the links to your email. To get around FF's PM filter, please spell our your email address like this: name at domain dot com Thanks! Rachel"
She also wrote this: if you'd like to contact the author, whose actual name is Eleanor Wilton, you can reach her at eleanorwiltonstories@gmail.com. The author is a P&P fanfiction writer as far as I understand.

And yes, the idea is not to share it.
