It's a modern twist, mixed in with some fantasy, video-game elements, and it's me ticking at least two boxes: North and South and Zombies and Werewolves and N&S.
They're technically there, but not done in a straightforward way. It's also mature, but not explicit. As in: has smut, but hopefully it's not vulgar.
I hope you give it a try!

Rox, I had to rearrange my brain that Trudy was male...here Trudy would be a female name, or at least that's how I know it. LOL. But then I don't know the game, so there's always that. I am enjoying it, even though I don't know the game.

Trudy is indeed a female name. I wanted to name characters after the real ones my family had back when we started out. And for some reason, that is what my husband named his burly dwarf with a bushy beard. He just thought it sounded nice ) I find it hilarious now. Tried to wiggle out of it, but no way around it.
I will save it (somewhat) from cringe in the next chapters.
For some reason I can't post the link to chapter 2... it keeps kicking me off the forum. Anyway, the second and final chapter of The Pencil is on AO3 x
Colleen, I reread your story all the way from the beginning. And just blown away at how GOOD it is. How you are figuring out the change is super amazing.
I posted the start of my extension of my summer story - first 3 (of 16) chapters - first 2 are mostly a repeat of the summer story (with added interludes at the end of each chapter), the third one is new. I will be posting twice a week until done. (each chapter has an interlude at the end).
