Well, it has been no fun at all having our board die when the host upgraded to a new server which ran an upgrade of Perl which our poor old board could not cope with :o

We've worked hard to make a new one using new board software. I don't like it as much and we had customised our old board over the years quite a bit, so this one is much less fancy.

But it's going to feel like home soon - right?

Thanks to Tom for supportive messages which made me feel as if it was worth carrying on, and Pippa (where is the hug smiley gah!)

So - wassup guys?

So glad to see you back, Tom and Forsteeriana! It's really lovely of you to say you missed it here - I did - it's been pretty hectic and actually quite dreadful trying to sort a new board out

Especially since we went 'live' at about 4pm and immediately the board went down, arrrrghh! (it was our mistake but this is totally new software for us.)

Struggling to find a way to contact the others at present (ColleenD, mimosa, Penny and a couple more?) so if you know any of them please let them know and 'encourage' them to sign up again

I was checking 50 million times a day...so glad to see that we're on. I don't anyone's email, so I was a bit worried. I totally missed this too! I was so excited when I saw Tom on the N&S talk yesterday...a little bit of the Mill in my life.

Does that mean that you/we've lost a bunch old stuff? Just wondering.

We have and we haven't 'lost everything', mimosa (sooo glad to see you.) The old board is hosted now on one of our computers but can't be posted on. We tried hard to import the (ikonboard) data to this board but consensus out there is it can't be done . If you want to copy anything from there and bring it over, please do.

I've got Colleen's email so I'll send her one.

Question: I'm contemplating adding a brand new "smutty-ish" chapter to The Rhythm of Life. Will it mess up the story pacing you think? Any thoughts?

I'm afraid I'm probably the wrong person to ask!

I'm biased, and you know I'm here for it.

To me, personally, I don't think it would mess up the pacing, but of course mine is just one opinion and other people might have different opinions.

A thing you could always do, in case you feel really unsure about the smut in general, is write a "clean" version for the fic and post the smut version as a seperate story, with a reference in the original story's chapter notes that whoever wants the non-censored version can just check out the separate chapter.

But like I said, I'm totally in for the sexy times!!

Never mind, I asked a question that was already answered, but I didn't know how to delete the post.

I guess it's up to you. We'd all be willing to sample and advise if you like. Could it be an epilogue? or a one shot as has been suggested.

Oh for heaven's sake, Pippa, if it's at the end, it harms the plot even less. If people don't want to read it, they can just finish reading a chapter early.

Just give them their fun times already! They've been through enough shit!

Wow, I also want to read this smutting scene and I don't it think it would mess up a rest story. Pippa, just write it or if it's already wrote, then post it. I can't wait for next chapter and this too, of course!
