I started to write a post the other day in reply to yours where you said you didn't think you could, trying to reel you in! Then I thought, oh come on, you can't put pressure on her to do one if she hasn't an idea - after all you have been very good to us lately in stories :hugs - and I deleted it.

But now you've given us to go-ahead to encourage you....

Pippa.... you like to please your merrikin, don't you?? *flutters lashes*

Okay everyone :)

A brief update on the Summer Collection. I'm happy to announce that there seem to be many more participants than in any past collection. If I didn't miss anyone, we should be 14 people in total, which is amazing.

The majority voted for an extension of the deadline until August 7th. If anyone is not done until then, nothing bad is going to happen and you just upload your story whenever you are done.

For everyone who has not done this before (and everyone who has forgotten), a brief guide on how to add your story - just in case.

1, Go to your own Dashboard on AO3
2, Look on the left where you see "My Collections" and click it.
3, You should see the colleciton "Midsummer Meeting" there (if you don't, let me know!)
4, Click on the button "Post to Collection" (at the top, second from the left) which will open up a new document.
5, Put in your story, tags and everything as you usually would.
6, Click "Post"

The story will be invisible until August 7th when I publish the collection.

IMPORTANT: Whichever date you first submit your story will be the "release date" so please note that ON THE DAY of publishing (August 7th) I will need you all to open your document once again, before I publish, and change the publishing date to August 7th. You cannot do it before the day itself, because you cannot select a date that is in the future.
Doing this will ensure that your story will pop up right at the top of the main page with all the others.

If you need any help or have further questions, just let me know.

Thanks everyone!!!

You copy and paste the text.

If you look at the top right of the text field, there are two buttons: "HTML" and "Rich Text". You want to change to Rich Text before you paste it, otherwise it will look like some crazy HTML code.

You can them format the text in the Rich Text function.

Hi Mim,

Just cause it sounds like you might not have posted to an AO3 collection before - because Tom has got the collection currently hidden, if you want to go edit your story after posting, you won't see it on your main "Works" page. You can get to it by clicking on the "Works in Collections" button at the top right of the "Works" page.

Looking forward to seeing it!

Oh yes, thank you Daisy for pointing that out. I forgot to mention it. 😊

Now I'm at the point where I don't understand where to find the date...so when I go into change the date, I'm not sure where to do that.

And so...I should see my own story, but everyone else's is a mystery work, right?

It's down between the number of chapters and the Set Language section.
And yes, you should be able to see your work, with the prefix "Unrevealed", and not anyone else's. Looking forward to Reveal Day!

Thanks, Daisy. At first I couldn't find it, and then...all of sudden I found it...this is all so new to me.

Hugs - we've all done it for the first time and had to sit and figure out the interface.

I posted mine then, even when I've no time to look at it, I've started re-editing. I've developed a love/hate relationship with commas. By the way, Merry, some of us have included mood boards. I wasn't sure if you knew. I've offered on discord to make one for anyone who wants one for their fic who hasn't got the time etc. So, am making that offer on here too

Yes! I keep thinking mine is done and then I keep making little changes. I should just post it and be done!

Making the mood board is really fun! Thanks for getting us going with those, Diana! :love

What a lovely offer! Thank you so much! I am a bit 'tied up' at present trying to get Mr M back to health and into the world again so I would be so grateful. :hugs

Glad it'snot just me who keeps picking. Was it Oscar Wilde who, when asked how his writing was going, replied ''this morning I put in a comma. This afternoon, I took it out again."
