OVERVIEW

We thought we would all write a story which had a vague theme or at least mention of Time Travel (interpret it however you like!)

Tom, Seb, Forsteeriana all declare they have finished theirs save for editing (length varied but not more than 7000 words I think)

Pippa and Colleen I think have one in the works?

We agreed a deadline of Halloween.

I think last we said was that we were going to make a "Weavers and Spinners" account and one of us would post the stories from there, right?

I would like to share my experience from doing this in the past. I have participated in a group anthology twice before, and we all submitted our stories to one person who posted them all on the same day. We would have to decide on how the stories would be submitted, by that I mean will we each submit our own as a chapter or will one person submit them all? Chapter One is an explanation of what we are all writing about, and then after that, it is the stories. Â We all would have the login info for our group and that way we can fix little edits if we see them on our own story.

We need to come up with a name for our group to post together:
"Writers from The Mill at Milton" Or
"Friends from The Mill at Milton" Or
Something catchy that one of you come up with.

Hoping we can post a link to The Mill on our stories - surely many will see our lovely time travellers and think 'wow I want to be in on their next collab'?

I think I'll have some time this week. Should I open a new account in AO3 for The Weavers And Spinners? We could then use that one for all future collaborations. I would send each of you the password privately, so you have access, but we would still pick one person to put together all the time travel pieces and post them in one document, each as a separate chapter, because it's easier if only one person does it.

Would that be alright for everyone? Any objections or other ideas?

I vote yes PLEASE, if you don't mind the work (you have a job and evening classes too, right?)

I'm a bit hazy on how it all works, could one add stories /chapters after the deadline if say anyone felt inspired to do another? or any newer members who might feel a little rushed to get one done by Halloween? (still keen to keep the deadline ourselves, as we don't want it all drifting on indefinitely - not when we have our Christmas stories to work on

I don't have evening classes in the next one and a half weeks so it should be fine

I think that shouldn't be a problem. It would be like adding a new chapter every time someone has a new version to add.

So I sent a request to AO3 to get permission to open a new profile. According to the site I will get a reply roughly by October 12th. Hope that works out, so I can create the account then.

Glad yours is coming on Colleen, it won't matter about missing the deadline as according to T we can just add more chapters once it's created. That could be useful! - eg my story is pure comedy (supposedly haha) but I've been thinking I wouldn't mind doing a 'serious' one too and I certainly won't get that done by Oct 31. Particularly if the board keeps needing fixing

Hello everyone!! I have great news! Our Weavers and Spinners account has just been activated successfully!

So, I'm going to send each of you participating a private message with the password, so you can log in later on, but you don't need to log in right now, because I will do the posting.

I will also send you my email address. Please send me your stories (ideally in a word document) as soon as you're finished writing, so I can start preparing everything. Do we have a deadline for the Halloween post? I think at least three days before the 31st of October would be good, so I have time to get everything done. Let's say the 28th?
You can also send your story to me right away, if you're already finished.
