Time for something jolly! This group comes from South Styria in Austria; Styria is the 2nd biggest province of Austria and comes 4th in population.

I think Our Nicolas is fighting a losing battle with this one - I can't hear his hackbrett at all! Plenty of drinks around for his consolation, though, as is usual with Potzmusig. The tune is an old favourite, Steiner Chibli.

Here's Jodelchörli Eriswil to entertain us. Eriswil is a village in the Emmental district of Canton Bern.

I feel like some more jodel. Here's Lisa Stoll playing with Carlo Brunner and his chums. The title Zungenbrecher means tongue-twister per Google Translate.

Here's Bärgjodler Sigriswil who are just north of the Thunersee in Canton Bern - you can see the lake in the video. You have to click on the link to watch the video on Youtube.

Here's my favourite Austrian trio playing a tune called the GF Polka. Plenty of drinks in view, as usual!

Here's the trio in the Music House in Innsbruck (just up the road from them) 2 years ago celebrating guitarist Hubert's 60th birthday - that's if I have translated correctly.

Here's Appenzeller Dad Werner and his two sons Nino (hackbrett, 8 years old) and Kilian (bass, 10 years old) playing on Nicolas Senn's programme 6 years ago. Nino wears spectacles now.

I haven't seen this trio before - Appenzell again! - but I like this; so did the audience. Tango meets Hackbrett. The trio have been playing together since 2004. If I understand their website, the double bass guy isn't an Appenzeller but has played in various orchestras including the Malaysian Philharmonic.

Here they are again! At least there isn't anybody there who looks as if they want to head for the exit this time. And I hope they drink up the wine, shame to waste it. The title of the tune translates as Tirolean Mouth Harp March.

No prizes for guessing who is going to be the star of this clip! Or for their home Canton. We've seen two of them before, but here's the whole family.

Time for a polka. This group is from Upper Carinthia in Austria, Carinthia being the most southerly province in Austria.

Yet more talented Appenzellers - how do two tiny cantons have so many talented musicians. Their combined population isn't much more than 70k!

Here we are with Switzerland's yodelling herdsmen. The yellow britches are supposed to mean that the herdsman has spent all summer with the livestock in the Alpine summer pastures.
