You might remember this trio playing with the Jaws Harps etc for the delight of the couple seated in between the 2 chaps at the table, with no hope of escape.

This is a far more recent video. I looked the group up, and found out that bassist Sonja is married to Jaws Harp, guitar and accordion player Peter (they have 2 daughters) while their friend Hubert (who also has 2 daughters) plays the guitar. They've been together as a musical group for 20 years and come from a place called Mieders 7 miles south of Innsbruck in Tirol.

And here they are again, just to show Peter playing his accordion.

I like this group and they like their hats; Google Translate couldn't cope with the title of this piece, Fulpmerisch - Aushaltig. Aushaltig means Enduring but I haven't a clue what the first word means.

Here's Takeo Ischi extolling the virtues of Bockwurst, Bier Und Blasmusik with the help of a waitress who likes to dance and beat a big drum. The title translates as sausage, beer and brass band music.

It's a while since we heard from Lisa Stoll from Canton Schaffhausen. Here she is with Nicolas playing a tune called Ganz oben, wo's am schönsten ist which translates as Right at the top, where it's most beautiful.

Having watched this a few times, I think this might be the closest you get to seeing a frenzied crowd in Switzerland.

Here's Fabienne again playing her hackbrett with the usual clutch of Appenzellers in the background. I can't find a translation for the title Birewegge Samba; it's the Bire that defeats Google Translate. Wegge means away as in go away or throw away.

During the performance you will see Nicolas taking a photo of Fabienne playing; and also what might be a first in these studio clips - an Appenzeller actually sipped his drink!

Here's the Jodlerclub Arlesheim doing their stuff at a festival in Mümliswil (in Canton Solothurn). Arlesheim is a town (population 9k) within a district called Arlesheim in Canton Basel-Land. It doesn't all happen in Canton Appenzell!

And here they are singing the same piece away from the pub.

These fine chaps are from Canton Valais in South Switzerland - the mountain part of the Rhone Valley. In German it's Canton Walliser; it is a large canton in area. Canton Valais is a bilingual canton, with 63% of its population speaking French and 28% speaking German. Just under 20% of the population are foreigners.

You might not want to watch all of the video as it goes on for 25 minutes.
