Hi everyone! I'm impossibleusay (she/her, aka Imp, as dubbed by Merry!). I am a longtime fan of North and South - I first saw it a year or two after it came out, read a bunch of fics on ff.net, but moved on to other fandoms for many years. But somehow earlier this year I got a random hankering to dive back into this fandom and I have been eagerly reading and rereading many of your guys' fics ever since. I'm not a writer myself, just a reader and mostly a shy fandom lurker by nature - but I love this little community that is growing here and wanted to join!
Welcome Imp (if that name is okay for you?). We are so happy to have you!!! It's true, readers are SO important to a fandom. It's you who keep us motivated to keep writing, because we know our work is appreciated.
I hope you'll have a lovely time here! Looking forward to talking all things John and Margaret with you.
Thanks all for the welcome! Feel free to call me Imp or Impy!
(And FYI, I think I might have confused a couple of people by posting my intro the very moment I signed up vs waiting for my official admins' welcome via this thread - my name is actually not Lisanne, I believe that's another user who joined about the same time as me. No worries though! )

Don't suppose you fancy adding a bit to our "Add a few lines to this story"... we'd be delighted if you did!
Thanks for the invite! I'll be happily cheering you guys on - writing has never come easily to me or been very enjoyable, but I have enough love for reading to make up for it!
Hopefully you will see a nice topic that takes your fancy - or start one with something you want to discuss! Friendly bunch here, you'll soon feel at home

There is a wonderful song Forever Autumn by Justin Hayward, one of my all-time favourites - I wonder if that was the inspiration! It's so sad!! 'through autumn's golden gown we used to kick our way...' merry wanders off singing

I was once sent a love letter which quoted that song. It's a lovely song. :-)
Hi ForeverAutumn!
Thank you all! Sorry for the late reply, I just saw this. Yes, I love the Justin Hayward song!
I have been reading North and South stories since I first discovered the miniseries a couple of years ago (can’t believe I was so late to the party) and I have loved all of your stories on AO3! I thought I’d finally join and say hi. Thank you all for sharing your fantastic stories! I enjoy them so much.
Oh how lovely to hear from you! especially telling us such nice things
I was even later to the party - only discovered N&S in Feb this year! I do so wish I had found it earlier! we seem to be quite a small bunch nowadays but we make up for numbers in our enthusiasm!
Please stick around and post where and when you can - it's so good to have you.
Sebastian who is confusingly 'merry' on here.

A warm welcome, Finata33!
So happy to see you here. Feel free to look around and discuss all things N&S with us! And maybe, if you want, you can also pop into our chatroom. We hang out there a lot, so maybe you'll catch some of us there.
Welcome to LlanviewUdropout - so glad you've joined - just dive in and post - in the Chat thread or 'where do we all come from' (best thread on the board with beautiful pics!) anywhere you like ! or make a topic of your own! Just talk to us
