Is discord strictly live chat (as in speaking and listening)? Or is it typewritten chat? I cannot do anything that is out loud.

You can post like this but it has the option to do a chat as in speaking to each other. You don't have to put your camera on (I never do). You can also stream films etc. You can do other clever gaming stuff that I don't know about. I'd say it's a bit like a cross between WhatsApp and twitter maybe? But you can have different threads like this platform. I think it's pretty good and very easy. I hope that helps x
Actually I've changed my mind....It's not like twitter. It's private to the group.

Discord brings several features together in one place.

In a server (like a forum) members can "chat" in text threads or "channels"

They can also talk to each on the voice channel (with optional video)

You can stream videos together.

You can 'call' or 'chat' with a single person privately.

It's a very versatile place.

I know I said it yesterday, but count me officially in if we're still starting at the end of May. So many thoughts to share, especially as I'm reading all of these newer N&S stories I've been missing. Very excited about this!
