And I think that Margaret is gorgeous, and I really like that picture of her a lot. She is who I envision when reading all the stories (and RA as John, obviously). There is just no other way.

Same here, mim. I also envision RA and DDA when I'm reading N&S stories. Only them and no others!

She looked so beautiful that night. If only.... if only... he had staked his claim that night! she was very ready for him to make some sort of approach I think... if only to keep him away from AL!

It was a real shame John got called away by Slickson (or whoever it was) just after shaking hands with Margaret. I wonder how the conversation might have continued if he had not been led away? Would he have escorted Margaret into the dining room when the gong went?! Maybe pull out Margaret's her chair for her and stare down her decolletage whilst she is seated?! Guess we'll never know.....unless someone would like to explore down this rabbit hole?!!

First, it was shame yes, that nothing happened more between them in that dinner party.

Second, thank you very much, Penny, for a new idea. I always trying imagine how John would laid his eyes over her decollete and can't take them away, so I thought to write about this and now you spoke about it.

I agree, Penny. I'm writing something a bit like it. John re-doing his life and doing it better. The dinner party scene will definitely be more like your version!
