When the tough get going.

Theresa may isn't standing at next election. She is 67 so will have just got her state pension and will get all the pensioner help like bus passes and help with energy bills so why would she want to keep on working in the commons. Maybe been putting off announcing it until she was 67 because current narrative is condemning people of working age deciding to stop working.

All the previous prime ministers will be gone and I think rishi sunak will do one to California after the election. We don't know when it is yet and if is in may they will have to say in next two weeks. Last time is January but that would mean campaigning over Xmas and its said this won't happen because no one wants that but the current government seems to specialise in what no one wants so anytime is likely as any other.

Mrs May was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes in 2013 and that can have all kinds of nasty side effects if you aren't careful. I don't blame her for packing in now while she is young enough to enjoy retirement.

At least she won't have to worry about her personal security because former Prime Ministers have that given to them for as long as they are deemed to need it ie for the rest of their lives I should think. Apparently Mr Blair still receives security at the taxpayers' expense and he is a multimillionaire.

Lee Anderson from the Tories has joined the reform UK party. He is the one who said make a meal for 30p and we had chat at the time about maybe with a plastic cheese slice and a piece of allergy additive toastie but who pays the gas bills . He is in trouble recently for refusing to apologise for saying things about the London mayor.

The Irish prime minister Leo varadker has resigned. Not sure yet what he's done to need to it's probably a very long list.

Two more ministers have resigned. One I never heard of and Robert halfon I have heard the name but couldn't recall what he did. Maybe this is how government ends all of them resigning drip by drip until not enough left to make a government. Wasn't that the final straw for Boris in his time as outgoing pm.

No one's resigned yet over 40 million voters hacked by China. I know they have done something tell off wise to a few Chinese diplomats but must be someone in our governments lot responsible for letting it happen mustnt it. 40 million seemed like just plain all the voters to me. Add on the children and foreigners without citizenship who cant vote and that's pretty much UK population.

DUP leader Sir Jeffrey Donaldson has resigned as party leader and subsequently suspended from the party after being charged with historical sex offences by the PSNI.

I don't think any Govt head will roll as a result of the hacking of the Electoral Commission's data on the electorate, because the Commission is an independent body set up by statute; I don't think it comes under any Govt department. Commissioners are appointed by the Speaker's Committee on the Electoral Commission; 6 of them are full-time, while the 4 part-timers are nominated by the political parties. When the list has been agreed it goes down to the House of Commons where they send it off as a Loyal Address to the monarch asking that these people be appointed by the monarch as Commissioners of the Electoral Commission.

It's really down to the Commission to employ IT specialists who know how to safeguard the data from hostile attack.

Over in NI Sir Jeffrey Donaldson says he will strenuously contest the charges.

It's the turn of Energy Security and Net Zero Minister Graham Stuart to resign from HMG, to spend more time on constituency affairs. He is defending a majority of 20.4k in his constituency of Beverley and Holderness.

An MP I never heard of from a place i never went to has resigned from the ruling conservative party and joined the opposition labour party even though it's only months until an election anyway and he isnt re standing.

When this happened with the MP for bury south it was easy to see it was for career because he has been picked as the new candidate but wit the Suffolk MP it isn't that.

Maybe Suffolk MP has always a fifth columist in the tories because he works for NHS and do they recruit anyone these days who can't demonstrate lefty views . Will be disappointed if labour promise him more money for the NHS it's never improved it before.
Only thing that ever helped is fewer patients e.g. when England stopped having 8 kids each in the 60s but massive increases in people already happened and those people are mostly the 8 kids type of people so I doubt even labour can help now. They will try but the percentage spent on NHS is already unsustainable and with extra money needed for wars and civil unrest not many other spending pots can be diverted to NHS.

Meanwhile Hamza from Scotland is saying he won't resign but they always say that until the minute they resign don't they. Minority government never works they end up pandering to smaller parties to make numbers up and as soon as there isn't enough given all falls apart.

Meanwhile Hamza from Scotland is saying he won't resign
:rofl right up to the moment when the news came out that Hamza is..........going.......to.................resign. A statement is expected later today, but BBC Breakfast was all agog with it an hour or so ago - I haven't looked since I saw it mentioned, with crowds milling around and their lead Scotland reporter going on about it.

It appears that Scottish Greens Patrick Harvie and Lorna Slater's pronouns have been amended to "was" and "were".
