OOER!! More Trouble For Prince Harry?

For some months the Heritage Foundation (a right-wing think tank in the US) has been calling for Prince Harry's visa application forms to be made public, following the Prince's revelations of drunken and drug-fuelled debauchery in his best-selling ghost written tome Spare; they want to see if he lied about his past drugs misuse on the forms, or told the truth and was let in anyway because of his high profile. The Department of Homeland Security steadfastly refuses to release these documents.

Things now are a little bit tricky because Judge Carl Nichols on 7 March ordered.....

the DHS to provide him with a declaration of the documents it is holding in connection with Harry's immigration status. This is so that Nichols may assess for himself whether they meet the requirements for exemption or not.

"Having reviewed the Parties' written submissions and heard oral argument on the Motions," Nichols said in his order, "the Court concludes that in camera review is necessary to determine whether the records in dispute come within the scope of the claimed exemptions.

"It is therefore ordered that, on or before March 21, 2024, Defendant shall submit to the Court in camera a declaration or declarations that detail, with particularity, the records it is withholding and the particular harm that would arise from public disclosure of them."

Paying for expensive lawyers to fight this case won't do the Prince's bank balance any good if he loses.

It's not Harrys fight to pay for is it? An American think group is asking the American government so it's them who will be paying. Harry will be the one deported if the group wins although isn't a visa renewed every few years must be nearly time for a new one and he won't be able to lie again after all the publicity will he so might end up gone anyway.

I suppose after living for 4 years on England is mean to us the happy couple will move back to England when Harry is deported and spend the next 4 complaining about America is mean to us.

Harry has spent a lot of time and money sueing the press for stories but now meghan is complaining about social media which is nastier than any tabloid but how to sue thousands of anonymous members of the public all over the world will be trickier. The tabloids are actually their friends as long as they get thrown the odd story as we have seen with what's happening at the moment with withholding the health information. There is public interest in knowing yet all the tabloids conspire to keep the secrets. Meanwhile they get all sorts of stories about minor royals who even remembered Edward exists but now he has been given a thistle.

So he has - I didn't notice that he had got it this year. Camilla got one last year. They come under the category Extra Knights and Ladies; the other 2 are Princess Anne and Prince William, the latter masquerading as the Duke of Rothesay.
