March hugs to one and all. OC, it sounds like your medical difficulties are being well tended, and going the right direction. Everybody have fun and safe travel! Thingummie minor and Thingummie esquire are just returned from Sri Lanka, where they did a lot of naturalist touring. I have been absolute...

Yes Merry, there was dancing! We had quite a jolly time. I do love to dance. Debating whether or not to go to the Williamsburg Ball. I have a ride there, but Thingummie major wont be going because of work commitments. I also have work which takes up my weekends, but maybe I can spare one Saturday. D...

Good idea OC! Every time I go in to a doc office, someone gives me faux hypertension. I've taken to measuring my BP at the rescue squad, and it is always normal there. Some things to do when taking your BP. Place your hand palm up, resting comfortably on a surface at the level of your heart. Put you...

December Chatty, hohoho!
OC, we have troubles with field mice eating the insulation off the wires on our tractor and wood mill engines, and sometimes even the car engines. So I'm wondering if your cat has discovered bioplastics in the packing materials? And that is why they are gnawing on the large package envelopes. Just a...

Merry, I bet the acoustics in Tewkesbury Abbey are stupendous, and the choir sounded accordingly awe inspiring.

I have a gas electric hybrid Honda car, and it has a standard transmission [stick shift]. Very few were made, and now none are being made. Furby makes an excellent point: if there isn't enough electricity for houses, where will the electricity for plug in cars come from? We had snow last night here ...

December Chatty, hohoho!
Happy December everyone! We had an absolutely silent night at the rescue squad, and then 5 minutes before we came off duty after a 12 hour shift, the tones dropped and we were out on a call. And it wasn't even our first due, so we had a bit of a drive in rush hour traffic to get to the patient's loc...

BANG! HAW-HAW!! CONSPIRACY!!! (Nov chatty)
I don't know if ya'll remember our mutual thread, way back in 2022, about the Royal Mail Pillar Boxes surviving bomb blasts? Just wanted to update you on that. I had some correspondence with Mr Attoe at the Postal Museum in London who did a little research in their archives for me, confirming a red ...

Merry! hugs!
Yes, glad to be home too. We have Thanksgiving holiday on Thursday, and I am going to make the tiny pumpkin pie tarts and cranberry sauce early, and so have less cooking to accomplish the day of the feast.

Just back from a week out west. Went to Las Vegas where I met up with my sister and niece. We went to Meow Wolf one day, and the Neon Bone Yard the other day. Flew to San Diego with them and spent the rest of the week in sunny California. While in Vegas, we stayed at the Flamingo. Did you know that ...

Gosh, that is quite Quite Silly, innit? I shall never sneeze again without thinking yakkaboo.
First thing each morning, I open the cinnamon shaker and sniff. So far, no return of olfaction, but hope springs eternal.

Beautiful tree cut down at Sycamore Gap
I read that the men were charged with destruction of irreplaceable property. In that event, the property owner can put a very high monetary value on the property and the defense is left trying to establish a lesser value. In this case, I doubt the defense will succeed in such an endeavor.

OK Eccs and OC! Cough up the details. If I'm developing hairy kneecaps, there had darn well better be an amusing punchline at least. Actually cough has largely subsided. But I am devastated to report, my sense of smell is completely gone. If it is dead, I shall give up fancy baking and establish my ...

Merry, we've had that lingering off and on again virus in the Washington DC area as well. It is rather draining, isn't it? [I went back to last month and read your post about being a ghost...]. I wish someone would open a curry place in West Loudoun. The nearest Indian restaurant is in Leesburg, whe...
