Tescos have banned people from wearing pyjamas or who are barefoot.

I wouldn't go shopping on pyjamas I just wouldn't but if you think about it logically clothes are clothes aren't they so it shouldn't matter as long as you do wear some.

I would also never go barefoot but that is just practical as I wouldn't want to stand on broken glass or dog turds with my own feet.

Arthur Dent toured the universe in his pyjamas, albeit with a dressing gown as well. I wonder if he tried and failed to get into Tesco?
I wouldn't do it either, but I can't see why anyone else would care. I saw some comments somewhere about it being wrong because it was 'lazy'. If they are bannng laziness we're all in deep trouble :D
If a Vogon battle cruiser had just knocked down your house just as you'd got out of bed and all you had time to do was grab a dressing gown and a pair of slippers and get out before the Vogon poetry started then I think Tesco should cut you a little bit of slack when you stopped by to buy a towel.
Yes it is a good job that pubs didn't have such a dress code otherwise Arthur Dent wouldn't have got his 6 pints and a packet of peanuts would he.

The re make of the Hitchhikers Guide is on BBC2 at 11pm tonight (Saturday) but I have seen it already.  It is clever how in modern times a dressing gown and a towel are now the same thing.

For Tesco it is a sneaky way to discriminate against riff raff customers I suppose as this sort of behaviour does seem limited to certain social groups at present. But it probably is a social change we need to nip in the bud before it becomes the fashion.

So if you go in naked except for shoes it would be all right?
:lol
:lol   I'm really glad to know that Tesco is upholding standards in this way - you wouldn't have predicted it, perhaps...   Waitrose, definitely!  :lol

Jay has been known to go round the fields on a summer's eve at sunset in a pair of (decorous) pyjamas, or even to the Spar shop - "but only when I'm with you, Mummy!" - presumably on the grounds she can hide behind my lissome self   :mad

Oh dear, if it has already spread to girls like J it may be too late to stop the behaviour. She can't be classed riff raff can she.

We had all better start looking for pyjamas fit to be seen out in as soon as possible. It all all more expense these days isn't it.
