Link thing about job centres for depressed people

The governments latest wheeze is to put mental health workers in job centres to help depressed people get jobs.

I take a great interest in such things as this may very well soon be me. Anyway, can it really be efficient and cost effective.

True, most people could do something for their living I suppose, but when there is a recession and not enough jobs for those bright young dynamic things eager to work anyway, how does it help to give jobs to the less able and willing.

If someone has to be unemployed and millions actually do need to be at the moment whoever wants what , then surely it is best if those who don't feel able to work are the ones not to work.

The government would probably even have to pay the bright young things more overall while unemployed as they will be in private rented homes claiming housing benefits whereas older people have a house or are already in a cheaper social housng house.

I agree, but you'll never get them to see the point.

Still this scheme can be proven to help the unemployment figures. All those mental health workers now have a job don't they :)

You have a point, but if those who are depressed actually get a job then they won't be so depressed. This will of course mean that the councellors will no longer be needed and then they will be out of work and will become depressed...
