I spotted this shot one evening last week when going on an organised walk. The sun was just setting and the light was shining through the petals of the wild poppies.

Really wide lens with shallow focus on that amazingly spectacular shot? That is one brilliant effect.
That's beautiful, Eccles. Picture that really large, mounted and unframed, on a bare cream wall in a trendy living room. It would look amazing, wouldn't it? I aboslutely love it.
A lovely shot.
Creature and Our Gran saw a field with lots of poppies in it not far from Merry Towers.
I love poppies and want to grow them in my garden next year. I live opposite a cemetery and thought about sprinkling a few seeds over there. I suspect they might get a bit upset.
Maybe they will 'self sprinkle'. You can't be answerable should they 'blow there in the wind' can you
Thanks all. @Asy, it's long lenses, in this case 400mm, that give foreshortened perspective and narrow depth of focus. So often, I miss this sort of opportunity where the light is just right, so I was really pleased to spot it.
Incidently, poppies favour disturbed ground, which is why they're used to commemorate WW1. The trenches of France were full of them.
