I thought ya'll might like to see a few nature pics from Clarke's Gap.

This wild showy orchid outdid itself with an unprecedented three blooms on a single stalk. This is a bit of a rare sight.

The early black raspberries are ripening
Daisies everywhere.
And lots of Virginia creeper.
Daylilies against a cloudscape.
Daddy cardinal is ever so proud of junior. [see the baby bird next to him?] I love the way the papa bird tucks his crest down, low profile, hoping you wont see him, even though he's crimson.

Taken from quite a distance, sorry it's blurry.

Stumbled over this old gate strap, forged in Colonial times, by the look of it.
We've got several beautiful species of giant silk moths. Here's what's left of a robin moth [Hyalophora cecropia]. Looks like a preying mantis ate it, or maybe a hawk, leaving us just the wings to admire.
And here's Asy and FalconKitty, on our stroll together of a pleasant evening at Clarke's Gap.

Thanks for walking with us awhile.

The orchid is very nice, I have rarely seen one and never seen three.
