In the local brook last weekend. Light was a bit murky giving me about 1/200 second at iso 800 so these aren't going to win prizes but they're attractive enough birds.

your pics are a real treat, do me a power of good they duz. Look at the greens and browns of that water - ! There is always so much to look at in your pictures.
The wagtail is very sleek and in elegant colours. But the perky little wren makes me smile .
Thanks Merry. The dipper is actually the real catch as it's unusual to see them in suburban environments. But they've been around here for many years, presumably because there are enough watery nooks and crannies to enable them to hide from too much human attention.
Incidently, look at the wren pic. There's fool's gold in the rock there, iron pyrites.
