Apple bobbing is a topical subject in the Halloween quiz. It was also popular at the local wildlife trust's Apple Day last Sunday. I was the official (unpaid ) photographer, and this was one of my favourites What a lovely pic! You caught it at the perfct moment.
I love the kid. He looks like a character from the Beano Yeah a perfect shot there. The sort of thing you could never set up no matter how you tried You do more work as an unpaid photographer than a paid photographer does , don't you.

Actually, I set it up..... He'd already been bobbing for the apples but I missed the actual moment when he got one. I said "Can you do me a favour, put the apple in you mouth and look as if you'd just got it?", and that's what he did. Both he and the apple were still wet so it looked real enough. I only took the one shot and I was lucky it was ok as a repeat wouldn't have been nearly as spontaneous.

There are around eight of these events every year so I'm not exactly rushed off my feet. These events help raise valuable funds for the wildlife trust so I'm glad to help a little by recording them. The nature photos I take are for fun so I don't regard that as 'work'.
The link below has the set from the Apple Day event if you'd like to look at them. Those are lovely! I love pictures of small children, reminds me of happy days in Chrissie's playgroup
Particularly liked 'I'm not sure this will fit!' (such absorption on the little face!) and 'A Capplepillar!'
