Intriguing, the selection of episodes for ITV4's Boxing Day Pros-athon, reputed to be:

8.40am - The Rack
9.40am - First Night
10.40am - Man Without a Past
11.40am - In The Public Interest
12.40pm - Rogue
1.40pm - Not a Very Civil, Civil Servant
2.45pm - A Stirring of Dust

Wonder how the powers that be decided upon those particular episodes.

I've decided after long and solemn contemplation, that "First Night" is my favorite episode.

Are they featuring one of your favs too?

Wow! I didn't think they'd ever bring them back. They are good mainstream shows even without the special interest. A bit dated now, but only really in things like the value of money and the lack of mobile phones.

My favourite 'Mixed Doubles' is not on the list, but I could enjoy any of them.

Yes, "Mixed Doubles" should have been on the list. A well integrated plot, lots of tension, action, and interaction.

Definitely preferable to "The Rack", which mostly serves to anger the viewer on behalf of the principals.

Those are definitely not my favourite episodes, although Rogue might make my list.

I shall have to have a look through the plots to remind me which is which before I name and shame   :devil

Mixed Doubles is definitely one of the best Pros eps of all.
I've just realized this:

The episodes that are to be shown are in transmission order, and all a chunk from the middle of series two.

The block of episodes starts just after "Hunter, Hunted", and ends just before "Blind Run".

Wonder if it's just a matter of convenience, presenting a chunk like that? Is it one long strip of film?

Though either of those two episodes not included would have been very much more popular than "The Rack" for instance. I really like Blind Run, though maybe the middle eastern connection would be too politically incorrect just now?

Wonder if starting with "The Rack" is to show they were worried about social conscience, even back in the primitive caveman 70s.  ;)
