I do realize that my perspective of reality is slightly warped, and here's proof.

There is a fascinating article in this month's issue of the International Journal of Legal Medicine, in which the authors have determined that Bronze and Iron Age decedent remains in Siberia came from folks who had blue or green eyes.

Somewhere along in my reading about single nucleotide polymorphisms in candidate pigmentation genes, I realized that a small portion of my intellect was thinking about fiction, with Bodie and Doyle having adventures in ancient Siberia.

le sigh  :rolleyes

:lol

That's lovely!  I hope you will begin it forthwith.  Some great Pros fiction came out of historicals.  Lately my mind has been flicking back to one where Bodie was a blacksmith and had to look after a wounded bookish doyle.  It was rather lovely in a way.  Oh and the anceint Greeky one?  Wine-Dark Sea, I think?

I love the blue-and-green B&D theme - for a Pros quilt, I once sewed a square with two swans, one with blue eyes, one with green.

And have a necklace with alternate midnight-blue and pale-green stones.  Bought specially, of course.

Love the sound of that necklace. Hmm, what could I do with a blue and green theme .... sure I'll think of something!

And yes, they do pop up in the most unlikely places - why not pre-historic Siberia  :D

Oh, would like to see photos of the quilt and the necklace. They sound lovely. Blue and green together seems very nature-ish to me. They just go together.

Helio are you writing a blue and green themed story? That would be delightful.

I may have to write that Siberian Bodie and Doyle story, after it ferments [like mare's milk?] for a while. I have had glimpses of the plot, heh.

No, 'fraid not! Having more than enough trouble with my current snail's-pace endeavour ::kicks snail:: I really just meant I should have some blue and green themed items I could wear about my person, 'cause Merry's necklace sounds so nice!

Are you glimpsing glimmers of 1970s/80s Siberia? Or prehistoric? :)

Definitely prehistoric. Complete with an ice princess named Anna.
ice princess
how very appropriate!  :D
