A person is canonised, and hence achieves sainthood, after a miracle has been attributed to that person. Mr Blair's actions while running the country have resulted in many extremely unlikely events, and although one would normally assume miracles to be desireable it could be argued that that isn't necessarily so. The considerable economic mess and degenerating infrastructure that he has left his unfortunate successor (who we should not forget was, in part, also responsible) could by that definition be called miraculous.
His unerring belief in the height of his own achievements is also miraculous by the same standards.
However, canonisation is usually performed after the death of the recipient of such an accolade, and unfortunately, Mr Blair is still very much alive.
But Mr Blair has got the Aura and the Glow normally found in Byzantine paintings and Russian Icons. Why should he not be the first SUBL to achieve Sainthood prior to martyrdom/decease?
