About 300 protesters held a candlelit protest outside a Glasgow theatre over the staging of a play which portrays Jesus as a transsexual.
Festival organisers said it had not intended to incite or offend anyone.

Oh come on! What planet have these people been living on? To believe that such a presentation wouldn't cause offence is living in cloud cuckoo land.

I'm  :lol at their surprise that it got that reaction.

I'm glad they are putting the play on though as it caused the christians to display their true colors once again.  Homophobia is at the heart of their cult.

"You can't blaspheme God and use freedom of speech as an excuse for that."

Actually I can and do all the time. Don't need an excuse though as god is a fictional character.

"If this play had treated the prophet Mohammed in the same way there would have been a strong reaction from the Islamic community, but that just wouldn't happen."

A strong reaction? is he suggesting that Muslims are more violent than Christians or that their belief is deeper?  :devil

Homophobia is at the heart of their cult

Creature is not so sure about that.   What does seem to be increasingly common is that some SUBLs who claim to be Christians use their religion as a cloak of spurious respectability to attack other SUBLs who they dislike.

An example of this is Lillian Ladele (a Christian), who claims that she suffered discrimination by being required to conduct same-sex civil partnership ceremonies.   Creature thinks that she should understand that she is working in a secular environment in the registrar's office, civil partnerships are legal, and if she doesn't like obeying the law in the course of her work she should find another job.

There are many thousands of Christians who practise their faith unostentatiously, and do not use it as an excuse to be unkind.
