Coo!  Made it!

Now..... 'and over them Napples.

Nice to see pictures of him again.

Is he more hardy than the other ponies, they have all got coats on.

He had a rug in the first winter month of being outside, but it's a pain rugging horses.  They weigh a ton (the rugs not the horses which obviously also weigh a ton.)  The rugs get thick with mud as they roll, and they tear them on brambles, and get them caught up and have to be rescued.  And they have to come off when it's warm.  And he is in a high field a long long trudge away.

Being a rough-tough pony-type his coat grew thick and coarse very quickly so it's better that he doesn't have one in lots of ways.. they regulate their own temperature better the more naturally they live.  Also a rug flattnes the coat making it less insulated and rubs off thenatural insulating oils.

He's almost  totally naturalised now...  heard Jay muttering about 'suncream' the other day.. but surely after a winter outside his nose will no longer go pink and peel at the first hint of sun?!?
