3. Did it say they'd be human? If not, you may not recognize them. I expect plenty of birds and insects have already arrived, to mention only a few.
4. Did it say how long they'd stay? They could have come and gone without your notice.
Any number of possibilities. We mustn't limit ourselves to the conventional. I'd say that prediction was one of the safe ones.

No, and as no humans turned up I suppose it must have been birds, there is a news story that birds are dying these days as worms are becoming extinct.

I had to expect a lot of letters and phone calls today.
And as it was Monday and I had been off on Friday, the horrorscope was correct.
Todays horrorscope says that everthing is going swimmingly at work and there is no reason why I can't leave early as I have a nice night ahead of me and I need to buy a nice cake but I probably won't get to eat it.
