I was in the hairdressers and this little old lady came in.

"How much for a shampoo and set?"  asked she.

"£15 wiv me an' £19 wiv Rob,"  replied the girl hacking through my hair with shears (perhaps I should have asked for Rob.)

When our visitor had left, my girl whispered to me 'Do you know that woman?  She is famous!  She has Second Sight!"

"But not enough to See the price of a shampoo and set,"  I replied (which did not get a laugh.)

"Her name is Claire,"  continued my girl.

"Claire Voyant?"  I asked.

"No - Claire Manning."

:lol

Do you wonder why you even bother at times Merry?
:lol and also  :mad because you say the sorts of things I would just wish, long afterwards, that I had thought of in time.  :D
Who's Claire Manning?
:rofl Well done for the quick thinking replies, Merry. Even if they were wasted.

Anyway, First Sight is more useful as mentioned in the discworld books.

Tiffany possesses the First Sight, the ability to see 'what is really there' (as opposed to Second Sight, which shows people what they think ought to be there)

:rofl  :rofl  :rofl
Creature told that Conversation to his colleague the Girl Claire at Work and she thought it very amusing.   Claire observed that maybe the hairdresser girl's slowness of uptake was why you only paid £15 for her services.   I wonder what the conversation would have been like if Rob cuts Merry's hair and the same thing happens 4 weeks later?

Little Old Lady enters the Salon;  Rob looks up and narrowly avoids slicing off the top of Merry's left ear with his shears.

Rob:-  Pray excuse me, dear client - there's nobody at Reception - CAN I HELP YOU MADAM? - oops, nearly had to charge you laundry bloodage there, Mrs Merry!

Little Old Lady:- I foresee a bright future for you, young man, especially if the cost of a shampoo and set is within my price range.

Girl:- It's the lady wiv Second Sight, Rob, she's famous.

Rob:- £15 with my assistant and £19 with me, Madam.

Little Old Lady:- Why the difference?

Rob:- Because I understand jokes about Claire Voyant and my assistant doesn't, Madam!

Merry:- Hey, that was MY joke!

Rob:- £5 discount for you, Mrs Merry, if you keep quiet.

Exit Little Old Lady in a Huff because she understands jokes about Claire Voyant as well.

Merry thinks:- What can I buy at Lidl for £5?
