A woman who caused international outrage by dumping a cat in a wheelie bin has told Sky News she is "profoundly sorry" for her actions.

Sky News

She picked up a neighbours cat and put it in the wheelie bin. The neighbour heard it a bit later and got it out again.

This wasn't a very nice thing to do at all, but I'm disturbed that it's international news and that the woman may need police protection. Mostly due to Facebook it seems.

Lola's owner Stephanie Mann has appealed for calm and urged people not to take "matters into their own hands".
The 24-year-old said: "I can't believe the reaction to the story. I only posted it on Facebook because I wanted to see who she was.

Ms Bale admitted she "shouldn't have done it" but added that she did not deserve the hatred of people around the world.

Ms Bale told The Sun she fears she may lose her job as a customer services assistant at the Royal Bank of Scotland.

She said: "I've had my boss ringing to ask me what's going on, and I've had to talk to the bank's security people about what to do if people who think I hurt the cat try to find me.

I don't believe in cruelty for the sake of it, but someone needs to break it to the mob that we kill animals in this country just so we can make sausages out of them.

:bash  :bash  :bash

only figuratively speaking, of course.

Apparently (reported elsewhere) she thought that the cat would find its own way out of the wheely bin;  if she that stupid (well?  how would I get out of a wheely bin unless it full almost up to the top?) it might indicate the quality of the customer advice she dishes out at RBS.

Wergh.

I suspect there's a little more to this story than has been told. Cat poo on the lawn, possibly?
Cat poo on the lawn, possibly?

Perhaps.   But that a very badly brought up Cat wot do that.   I hardly ever wander outside anyway now, but I always came back indoors to use my Litter Tray, as does my Sister Claire.

Creature taught us it a very good idea to always use the Tray.

Not all owners are as responsible as Your Creature. My front lawn was regularly fouled as late as Spring of this year. It appears to have stopped now, so hopefully the cat's own Creature has taken steps.
