California is considering using digital car number plates, which would show ads when cars were stuck in traffic The electronic plates would look like standard plates when the car was in motion, showing the registration number, but when a car stopped for more than four seconds, scrolling adverts would be displayed to people sitting in the vehicles behind. Does the world need more adverts?

Does the world need number plates which can be changed instantly as I'm sure someone will be selling the software patch to do that within days of it coming out.
