For many years now, the Girl Claire has jested about Creature's harem, fan club etc. This because Creature tried to be very kind and useful to the Admin Officers/Bursars (mainly lady Stand-Up-Back-Legses) of the former Grant Maintained Schools wot lost their freedom from the Local Education Authorities while labour having an aberration of devolution and non-centralisation. Some of them thought he very good, and one said a meeting of their Group one time was almost a meeting of his fan club, nobody else in his office ever had that said about them, he proud of that.
The Girl Claire always reckons on being able to judge the Gender of a phone caller to Creature from the tone of his voice.
Anyway, when Creature came back to the office last week, one of his colleagues said there a Parcel for you in the departmental safe. So Creature went to get it, and it a thinnish parcel from John Lewis. Eagerly he did open it to find...........................a bottle of champagne.
So he did look inside, and found it from one of His Ladies as the Girl Claire do call them, thanking him for being so helpful and friendly. The lady was retiring and wanted Creature to have something to remember her by.
So that made Creature's day. It nice for him to know that not everybody he deal with do think he a faceless jobsworth bureaucrat.
Meanwhile, here Girl Claire and Creature manning a stand at an Open Day some years ago. Claire not looking her best because of print quality and Creature's rubbishy scanner at the time, but nothing could save Creature at any time hweh hweh hweh.
Creature is indeed a verray, parfit gentil knyght - cheers, I hope it goes down a treat! 
Now there's a nice present worth getting! Hope it was/will be delicious (and that Creature was moved to corresponding largesse with the Hill's, Midge!)
Will creature have to not drink it now so he can remember it.
I am not sure of the wisdom of buying alcoholic drinks to help people remember things but it is very nice of the lady.
And well done to creature for being good at his job.
