Hi Everyone,
Just back from sunny Hungary. It was 32C every day so plenty hot enough but a bit disappointed in our first place, Debrecen. We moved from that city because the accommodation was less than satisfactory.

Budapest was more exciting but still a couple of days would have been enough for me. The zoo was fun especially feeding the camels and elephants! Eccles you would have enjoyed the butterfly house because you could spend as long as you liked really close to them.

We also enjoyed the bus trip around the city and the river trip on the Danube. Lots of good meals out too and of course the obligatory cool beer!

Hope you enjoy the photos!

Hungary 2009 this one is just for you Eccles!
Bristol Zoo has a small butterfly house that I found enthralling when I visited it last year. I can only imagine what a capital city's version would be like. Thanks for the photo Chrissie!
Welcome home Chrissie!   :cuddle   I missed you.

I particularly liked the Camel!!  With my very beautiful BF standing next to it.

I expect you're glad to have seen a different country but maybe next year back to the US ? :D  Hope M and J enjoyed it.

The trip on the not-so-blue Danube sounds lovely!

Is Hungary that place where the beer is very very cheap.

Or are they in the EU these days and now charge an arm and a leg like the rest of us.

:lol no Furby I chose the destination because the currency is Hungarian Florints affectionately called Huffs and in ridiculous denominations that I annoyed younger son by constantly checking the sterling equivalences! Shame I did not research more about the destination.... a capital city ticked but not to return to - unlike London!!
And I meant to say the beer is cheap and very good!
:)

Creature has friends wot live in Chorley.   One summer they went for a trip to Chorley's twin town in Hungary - it called Szekesfehervar, it 40 miles SW of Budapest - and over there it was 37C.   So Chrissie lucky it not hotter!

Piccy here if you want to look at it, it look quite nice and historic.

Thanks for the pic Midge, looks better than Debrecen - not a recommended Hungarian city. However I do recommend the wine and especially the rose if you see any over here!
