There is a program on at 8pm about this.

I shall watch it for handy tips.

I bet not many of them apply to Furbys though.

I hope there are some useful tips re your mortgage, Furby, but I tend to agree with you - most of these quick-fix solutions are written by people who do not appear to recognise that most of the nation is not highly waged or born into money.

It will be like the advice I just read for losing weight and keeping healthy.

This is no problem! so long as you can walk (in all weathers) and of course afford to buy extra shoes (a well fitting pair must be bought frequently for anyone walking seriously enough to lose weight)

If you can't walk due to weather (or not being able to afford the extra shoes) you can walk indoors on a treadmill - these are just as good.  Only expensive ones work properly though (£1000) and cannot be used in a flat or anywhere where noise is a problem.

Still finding objections?  Then join a gym!  Big sign-up fee and pay per visit but sooo easy.

Buy fruit and vegetables (five portions a day), preferably organic, and bin those cheap chips and burgers in favour of lean meat and fresh fish.

And the government is scratching its head wondering why ill-health and obesity is linked to income levels.

The money saving tips were ones we probably all know now.
Make the children walk to school.
Take a packed lunch to work.
Give up smoking.
Use the train instead of car
Buy clothes in charity shops
Do not decorate the house
Book a holiday on the internet

The money making tips were
Have a car boot sale from stuff in the attic
Sing Country and Western music in an old people's home
Do a hypnotist stage act
Run a slimming club
Do 60 hours of training and pay 2000 pounds to learn to be a corporate motivator then you can earn 1000 a day
(note - if you are lucky one of the audience will be able to fix your laptop/projector proiblems)
Resign from your day job and your boss will beg you to come back and let you work 2 days a week.

:pigsfly :pigsfly  :pigsfly
:lol I'll get onto those right away. I wonder that I didn't see it all before it was so obvious.

I'm not sure about the train one. Last I heard they were doubling the fares yearly and halving the trains. The long term plan presumably will be one train a year which costs £1M each way.

Also I'd like to point out that giving up smoking is unpatriotic since without the more then 80% tax on them Tony Blair and his friends would have to start booking their holidays on the internet.

I walk on average about 3 miles a day to keep my weight under control, and Merry is right: I get through 2 pairs of trainers a year. I don't buy top name trainers, but really cheap ones are a waste of money. Dunlop, AB Sport or Gola are ok. It's still about the cheapest way of getting exercise, and the only other things you need are warm clothing for winter and an umbrella.
ooh i wanna pigs flying piccie can you add it to the line up pani PLEASE!!!
It is one of the secret HF emoticons that I only just got access to as my popup blocker is evil.

: p i g s f l y

And the program is on every week with a different family so I will report back next week.
Uffy, when you're posting click the word 'emoticons' under the box you are typing in and it will bring up a long list of smilies. You have to type the word in as those are not clickable.

As Furby says, that one is : pigsfly without the space after the colon

Furby, don't miss it as it sounds like fun :)
