I tried the end of the world story on my work colleagues yesterday when it was still dark at 9am and we are already past the longest night now.

But they just complained about my lack of cheerfulness.

2  cast members are to leave.

Perhaps they hve listened to the complaints of why have a Lancashire soap full of other accent people when they have their own soaps.

Well, no-one will be sorry to say goodbye to the awful Baldwin son, surely. He speaks as if he has something large and chewy in his mouth the whole time and he never combs his hair.

Kieran's not so bad, though he suffers from dreadfully boring storylines.

I wonder who the two other 'younger members' of the cast are who are facing the chop as per that article.
I do hope it's not little Josh.  A scenestealer if ever there was one.  At one time every time he had a scene with Fred, to whom he had obviously taken a shine,  he implored him 'not go now? not go!' in a way that forced Fred to adlib somewhat panickily, and last night when he was discovered pouring perfume into all the shoes in the house (a bizarre but wonderful Corrie moment) his presumably unscripted and gleeful 'Not good!' was a joy to behold.

Though I do hope he didn't repeat the behaviour at home.

Yorkshire Katy is one as she is going to top herself.

She is also going to kill her dad so he is going too but he doesn't really count as young, being about my age.

At one time Tracy was going to leave perhaps she still is.

I heard that there are so many episodes they have to film live now without a rehearsal so scenes with un predictable kiddies and dogs must be a nightmare.

Were you a punk in your youth like him, Furby?

on the CSVU bulletin board, there is some debate about little Bethany being ominously quiet and well-behaved in every scene.  It isn't normal for a 4 year old to be always colouring - on the paper.

I was not a punk as I don't approve of body piercing or spitting. I also prefer tuneful tunes although I did like some "new wave" such as Boomtown Rats and Elvis Costello.

Interestingly the rumour is now that the election will be on March 17th which is the day the world is supposed to end.

now that's scary  :nuts

I think we should start a HF reading circle like on Corrie.  If only we could get a copy of A Hard Grinding!

Ken is hoping to get married again.

He thinks it will make things easier to sort out when he dies.

Spookily Ken got married the same time as Prince Charles last time, but the story was before the news so they can't just be copying again.

I think Corrie is very funny at the moment.

The story about Rosie and Craig (age 14) planning to sleep together as the world was going to end and then deciding not to bother on the grounds that Gemma still had some S club 7 Cds was funny.

Are there many originals still left in Corrie?  I assume by Ken you mean Ken Barlow, and he's been in it forever.

Still waiting for the program to be shown here.  I know Canada get it  :(

I think Ken is the only original from 1962.

There are others who have been in it for ages.

Deidre - Ken's wife from 1981 but they got divorced and she has had 2 other husbands since. She is the one he is hoping to marry again. She wears glasses.

Emily - her husband got shot and she goes to church

Mike - owns the factory - not in it much now his cokney family have taken over

Rita - used to be married to Len and now owns the newsagents. she has red hair.

Jack and Vera -  she used to work in the factory and he went to the bookies a lot. She now works in the cafe and he had a heart attack.
