This is a public service announcement in case anyone is confused.
It has been brought to my attention that thin 9 year old girls are confused by this, so others may be.
You only drop the jeans size if you eat the breakfast cereal instead of your dinner, and having some as a snack because there is no junk food in the house will not cause this to happen.
We wish!
Chrissie (of this board) actually tried to get me on this diet with her some years ago, it worked for her but my jeans size stayed the same
Maybe because I ate the cereal in place of a meal I don't usually have anyway
It is not good advertising for them is it?
They may get a few women on diets buying more cereal, but if children are going to be too scared to eat it they will lose out in the end.
It's damned stupid. Have you checked the amount of sugar in that cereal? It's almost like replacing a meat and two veg meal with a bar of chocolate.
You can check the numbers here:
http://www.kelloggs.co.uk/mediacentre/product.asp?id=55
Sugar is way too high at 17% and salt at about 2% isn't so good either. Fibre at 2.5% is about the same as highly refined white bread, i.e. poor.
Try weetabix instead. It has a third the sugar, half the salt and three times the fibre.
But it is yukky.
There are other decent breakfast cereals, but most of them won't be by Kelloggs. There's one exception that Isis mentioned once but I forget what it was called, and I don't know if it's available in this country.
The only breakfast cereal I like is mini shreddies, but I never have breakfast, so I don't get to have them very often.
Weetabix must be a man's cereal, mr merry loves it (3 every morning - followed by toast, butter and jam - thin as a rake. Some people have it easy!)
Some people have it easy because they eat right. Eat breakfast with plenty of fibre and you're more likely to be slim than if you skip breakfast altogether.
It is just that if you are the sort of person that gets up and eats a yukky breakfast, you are not lazing in bed getting fat.
I never eat breakfast, don't get up early if I can help it, and am not fat. I am also the least smug person I have ever met
