The good news is that preparations are alive and well up and down the country as workplaces make their contingency plans for when their staff have bird flu.
The bad news is that so many staff are making contingency plans that there may not be enough staff to run the country this month.I am one of thiose staff.. however i assure you I am fitting it in with other work honest! I have a cold. What are you contingency people going to do about it? Soft female hands on my brow are invited. Do you need a lift to work, when we have the list of people who can give you a lift to work we will try and sort something out.
Obviously the buses and trains will stop in a Bird Flu epidemic but petrol garages will still be open for car drivers to get petrol. We can arrange for you to work from home instead if you have a PC.
This will require interference with your PC that you may not be too happy with and you will need to bear in mind the effect on other members of the household who want to use the PC for other purposes as they won't be able to .
I nearly fell off my chair when I heard this plan, as computers are only a tool to help people do things and if there are no people there to do things it will all be in vain.be very careful! Orkney is full of dead birds! Babs could be menaced by a coughing swan at any time!Isn't Bird Flu flying North though?
So Orkney is the safest place?
We may all have to go an claim asylum at Babs. The lastest research suggests we may not have to after all
