Bit of an old chestnut, but highly appropriate if you mentally replace doors with bottles
You are an expert on paranormal activity and have been hired to locate a spirit haunting an old resort hotel. Strong signs indicate that the spirit lies behind one of four doors. The inscriptions on each door read as follows:
Door A: It's behind B or C
Door B: It's behind A or D
Door C: It's in here
Door D: It's not in here
Your psychic powers have told you three of the inscriptions are false, and one is true. Behind which door will you find the spirit?
D.
O you does want me to explain.
Door A: It's behind B or C
Door C: It's in here
These 2 are fibbing, because if it C then they both truthful, and we already know that only one statement true.
Door B: It's behind A or D
Door D: It's not in here
One of these 2 is fibbing. We know spirit not behind B or C so it must be behind A or D so B is telling the truth. We now know D is lying when it says that the spirit not behind it, so it Door D.
