What a great idea. Just scratch in the varnish a fuzzy little beard and a couple of dots for eyes nose and mouth and you've got it made.
Tescos have sent me an email to let me know they have improved their website.
I haven't yet used the new site as I now have a local shop so have negelcted Tesco lately.
Have any of you tried the new Tesco yet? Usually new and improved means changed to suit them and worse for us doesn't it.
It is not improved, it is a million times worse. I was trying to summon up the energy to Whinge but it is all too wearisome. I was Specially Chosen to get the new site about a month ago. Oh Lucky Me.
I shan't even mention the slowness, the jerkiness, and the half an hour it takes to load my 500 favourites. No, it's not that. What really gripes me is the way you are fforced to open new windows all the time and then the damn thing redraws your 500 favourites not just all over again but returns you to the top. I'm probably not getting across just how irritating this is
but you'll see, you'll see.... I thought I had cracked it when they made it so you could 'open link in new window' (eg, to see what other things were ina 3 for £10 offer) as it seemed to work - but then my shopping arrived without half the stuff and I realised it had not added them to the Basket.
I am that fed up with it I'm considering using Ocado for the next month of shopping - except that they seem to be in some straits - and have sent me an email inviting me to buy shares when they float it on the market - ummmm.. I think not.
Oh dear. Merry will unhappily write pages and pages about how awful the new site is. I dislike it too, but can put up with it I suppose.
They changed a perfectly good and simple layout for one which uses special effects which don't even work right in every browser. My shopping is simple enough that it's no hardship really, but it's a shame.
EDIT: oh I see merry HAS written about it
WHY did they ruin something that WORKED SO WELL. Why?? weeps
I have guessed it.
They are trying to get rid of customers like Merry that have complicated shopping lists and keep more customers like Pani with simple lists that are easier for their poor staff to work on.
Perhaps you should try Ocado Merry, even if they are in straits as long as they deliver your shopping before they disapprear into the straits , would it matter. But you could lose the cost of one weeks shopping I suppose if they fall into the straits before they get to your house with it.
I wouldn't mind having Ocado occasionally, they sell Waitrose brands but slightly cheaper than Waitrose. But I like Tesco. I like their Value Marmalade. I even used to like their website. I looked forward to doing my weekly shop.
I ought to email them really and point out all the faults with it. But you know what, I just can't be bothered. Would they be grateful for my free evaluation time and essay? Would they change a darn thing? No.
