I got some hyacinths in a Spring pot-plant arrangement for my birthday (along with some ivy and another small flowering plant.)  The hyacinths flowered beautifully and then died down, and I've now moved the dead-looking bulbs into another pot to give them some room and a place of their own (with some compost.)

This is probably a daft question... but should I water them?  And should I leave them outside in the pot or move them into the garage before winter?

Interesting thing about hyacinths:  I had some in the garden at Darkes Farm and eventually, after several years, they reverted to bluebells... which was OK as bluebells are very pretty.  :D

Here they are at their most beautiful

Shouldn't bluebells be... well... blue?
They become bluer as they revert to the wild :) it does take some years
Not an expert by any means, but I think forced hyacinths tend to be exhausted.

If you plant them in a bed outside and leave them for a couple of years they will probably regenerate.

But very open to correction on this.
