I got some hyacinths in a Spring pot-plant arrangement for my birthday (along with some ivy and another small flowering plant.) The hyacinths flowered beautifully and then died down, and I've now moved the dead-looking bulbs into another pot to give them some room and a place of their own (with some compost.)
This is probably a daft question... but should I water them? And should I leave them outside in the pot or move them into the garage before winter?
Interesting thing about hyacinths: I had some in the garden at Darkes Farm and eventually, after several years, they reverted to bluebells... which was OK as bluebells are very pretty.
Here they are at their most beautiful
Shouldn't bluebells be... well... blue?
They become bluer as they revert to the wild
it does take some years
Not an expert by any means, but I think forced hyacinths tend to be exhausted.
If you plant them in a bed outside and leave them for a couple of years they will probably regenerate.
But very open to correction on this.
