Campion looks right to me. It does look nice doesn't it. :thumbs
It doesn't seem as happy on its new window as my house faces a different way to its previous happy home but I have explained to it that it is either this or starvation so it grew one more flower.

I am not sure if cactuses grow flowers there are no sign of any even on the big cactus in a plant pot. I have a vague recollection they only flower every 28 years or something.

I am wishing your little flower well.

It is a strange thing, keeping plants inside.  I have one, a rather exotic Peace Lily ('Sir Algie') which is absolutely vibrant, green and flourishing, in a room which has been the death of many other plants.  Try your little pink flower in a different room perhaps, and see if it seems happier.

I don't know much about plants really but the British Cactus Society says this:

Another misconception, that they only flower every seven years, needs to be cleared away too. Once they have reached flowering stage, they will flower regularly every year and some will flower even twice a year if grown correctly

Presumably as a proud cactus-owner you are now eligible to join the British Cactus Society and it does sound a very useful place to be a member of, as it promises to prevent 'many unwanted problems'.  All my problems are unwanted, so I may have to buy a cactus and join myself.

If the leaves fall off you can plant them and grow new plants  so I can send you a free leaf if you like as one just fell off. You probably need Sooty and some oofle dust as well but I haven't got that far in reading the notes yet.

The elderly cactus (on the left next to the purple plant - non spiney so may be a succulent instead) doesn't seen to match any of the pictures I see. They do have helpful hints (or may have been a different website) saying don't buy a cactus unless you know its name first but I thought that unhelpful.

I have moved the flower to my bedroom so it is facing the same direction as in its previous existance and will see how it goes. Plants mean insects don't they so if it starts any of that nonsense it will have to move out.

The purple flower likes my room and does not like the bathroom or kitchen here (it lived in the bathroom in its former life)

I didn't leave it long in the kitchen as I horridly remembered about the slug family who live there. I bet they would have found the little cactus very tasty. (it is not a spiney type)

It has 8 flowers now but 3 have died off.

I haven't been able to identify the elderly cactus/succulent thing yet so it is probably very rare.

My plants are like members of the family to me so I understand  :hug  Definitely send me a cactus leaf, with oofle dust, and I will plant it in a pot next to Sir Algie, I'm sure he would like a friend   :D

Don't talk to me about slugs.......   :(  :(  :(

I wil have to update the slug topic.  :(

The mystery "plastic-bag-paper-towel" plant is actually FIVE cactus plants.

They are all living and I have had to split it into 2 pots now. Even little cadpig cactus which had been squashed in the plastic bag and was only half a cabbage is now recovering.

Awwww the Cadpig! from the book 1001 Dalmatians, I believe?

There is much satisfaction in nurturing plants, isn't there.  I take it very personally when any of mine struggle, as I get quite atttached to them - especially those that came from someone dear to me

:hug

I have put them all in their own yoghurt pots now. If they grow bigger I don't know what I will do as they only sell plant pots with plants in them so it seems a bit cruel to kill one just to put mine in.

No sign of any flowers yet on the Big Leafy Cactus or on any of the little cabbage cactuses. I am not convinced about the 28 year rule myself. If so I may not live to see them.

Purple flower seems to have died off now. :( It did have 9 flowers in its life though.

Maybe they are just in shock after their sudden move and need a little time to settle in before they flower again.  They do sometimes.

(Cheap) terracotta pots are better than plastic for plants I think.  And I think you can buy them empty.

Don't give up on the little purple one.  So long as there is any green in the stems (inside) there's hope!
