OK, you may hate these, but if we're going to have to use them then we may as well buy them cheaply. Lidl are currently selling 11w (60w eq. 
) at 10p each. They seem good enough to light a bedroom or as a wall light while watching TV. Look carefully at the picture on each box when choosing as screw and bayonet fit seem to be mixed up in the same batches.
I wouldn't want anything less than 100w as a gift.
Despite this I already have so many gifts of pathetic light bulbs that if they really last as long as claimed I won't need to buy more ever at my time of life.
However for anyone out of my loops , 10p a bulb is a bargain.
Morrisons had them at 25p recently which is not as cheap as Lidl but still very cheap.
I expect soon they will be paying us to take the bulbs home.
