Don't worry about the foreign language. There are no words, just point, find, use and click in the style of the old adventure games, until you do the right things to open the door.

but I still can't work out the cube/lights panel. 
After a lot of time and some collaboration with a colleague I have escaped the room!!! Great fun! Thanks for the link, Merry! 
Me too! And Pani! But it took a couple of weeks! Yayyyy us!! Pani was brilliant and very intuitive/logical, my contributions lay more in mindless clicking and random chance discoveries 
Glad you and colleague enjoyed it, Chrissie. If you find another similar, do share, we've been looking but none of the others I've found seem as good.
Don't believe a word of it. I'd never have got through it without Merry. It was great fun and I'm hoping we can find some more like that.
Hint needed please...
I am stuck stuck stuck on this, sadly I cannot crack the code with the coloured lights, and I have tried everything I can think of (ie rainbows, order of how colours change etc) - can anyone give me a hint on this bit?

The code for the panel on the left, and the one on the right are not connected... that's the first thing to know.
The one on the left... you have the special knowledge you need to solve it, as did I 
but you need to examine the panel with a 'special thing' which you may not have.... have you moved the chair yet? <---- (drag mouse along hidden text to reveal it.)
If it is the one on the right you are stuck with, I'll have to get Pani to remind me how we did that one. Again you need the special viewing thing.
An obscure clue for the right panel (for now) would be to mention the colored cube and ask if you noticed the rounded corners.
Does that remind you of anything or can you spot a pattern emerging?.
