Congratulations to both winners of our

Election Quiz.

Chaircat Midge & BrownFurby

The turnout was low but the quality of entrants very high, both candidates put up a spirited fight with some memorable quotes ensuing, well worth repeating:

Clement Attlee - a modest man who had much to be modest about

James Callaghan who appararantly never said anything of the kind and The Sun made that quote up but now it is a apart of history as if it had happened.

PASS. I wasnt born and find history so dull.

And do you remember when James Callaghan stood down to allow for a younger man and they picked Michael Foot?
Even if we get of Gordon Brown there is not much hope is there?

William 'Billy Fizz' Hague, seen here narrowly evading an attempt by Michael Portillo to assassinate him with an elegant stiletto between the shoulder-blades...funny picture attached by entrant, below

One entrant complained that the music question was 'a ghastly racket', the other moaning that 'history is so dull' - both of them had me in fits of laughter and both got very good scores.  A special :clap for the Chaircat for very nearly exactly predicting the number of seats the Tories would gain - one seat out!  :worshippy

A big :clap2 to both of you, and a thank you both too for taking the time to enter  :grouphug

I stole the Attlee quote from Winston Churchill.

I is very happy to be joint winner with Furbs, and thank you Merry for the Quiz.

See how civilised we are here at hard facts.

We don't need to stay up all weekend and talk the talks and draw up a 20 page document agreement to be joint winners.

:D  :thumbs
