Jay and I were delighted to be invited by Chrissie once again to her playgroup for their performance of A Wriggly Nativity.

It was charming and giggleworthy and tear-jerky in the way only small children's nativities can be - we had a reluctant chicken, several naughty shepherds who duelled vigorously on the back benches with their fortuitously floppy crooks, the obligatory slipping teatowel-on-the-head, two (boy) Kings who kept dropping their precious gold and frankincense, and a demure girl-King who kept tight hold of her myrrh.  Then there were the donkeys peering out under their dinky donkey- heads, some very small sweet sheep with giggly smiles, some very beautiful angels, including a bolshy one who felled a fellow-seraph with her weapon-wand and stood over her in power-ranger stance - Ha!

A delightfully bellowy 3-year-old innkeeper stole the stage, as did someone quite small who had mastered hopping and demonstrated determinedly - after all if you have only just learned to hop, naturally you want to do it at the front of the stage with leg as high and foot as whirly as possible, don't you?  :lol

It was a delight, and a triumph, and Chrissie deserved a big round of applause and a bouquet of flowers for her narration and direction so I am giving her one here.  Thank you for inviting us, Chrissie - we loved every moment.   :cuddle

:clap2

That sounds wonderful  :clap You just can't go wrong with kids performing as anything they do is just so cute. :)
Merry you are so fulsome in your praise I am blushing  :blush it really makes my day that you and Jay drive in to see about 20mins of performance! I do love doing the Nativity with playgroup as every year is different as they put their stamp (or hoof) on it!
We have already identified a new script for next year (same publishers) and you will both be VIP guests of course!
