Boyzone - Every Day I Love You
Every Breath You Take - The Police
Faith Hill - Breathe the way you love me
close enough yes?
Just the way you are - Billy Joel
Or Barry White did a cover version.
LeAnn Rimes - One Way Ticket
Giving away my music tastes here (or lack thereof)
Ticket to Ride - The Beatles
More like your approx age.
YF mentioned Coldplay and Granny said "Who". I have just about heard of Coldplay but could not hum any of their tunes. There then followed a surreal conversation when we were told of 5 other extremely popular artists that EVERYBODY has heard of even people who don't like them have heard of them, but we are clearly nobodies. I forgot them already so can't test you.
Music is evil as it clearly discriminates on the grounds of age ageism is the latest PC hot potato.
I bet not many have heard of this one:
Ride Away - Roy Orbison
Not that song , but I have heard of Roy Orbison.
Never Let Her Slip Away - Andrew Gold
Medicine Head - Slip And Slide
I'm sure I wouldn't have heard of any of them. I'm stuck in the 60s, or the 70s in this case
I can't quite remember that one, Eccles, but I have 'Dream Baby'
Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head
I forget who sang the original which I do remember.
The extremely popular artists had names which don't even resemble English names or words. In the olden days even if I had not heard of an artist their names sounded like real names.
e.g. If I had not heard of Roy Orbison, I would have recognised Roy as a real name, or if I had not heard of the Beatles I would know that a beatle was a creepie crawlie.
