Is is my imagination or has a cuppa tea gone more horrible lately.
Perhaps I am sickening in old age.
I am not yet so poor that I buy Tesco 29p per 100 tea bags.
So I am buying PG Tips or Tetley. I have had PG Tips all my life and have the Tea Cards to prove it, but I think it tastes more horrible these days. The major manufacturers blend various types of tea to achieve consistency but there's bound to be some variation in taste. Perhaps you've just got a poor batch.Try some different ones for a change. Tescos have dozens of types. I usually go for the fairly cheap tea bags (not the very cheapest) but I quite liked Tesco Finest Assam Teabags and Twinings EnglishbreakfastGlobal warming. The sun leaches aromatic hydrocarbons from botanicals, leaving them less fragrant and more bitter.I don't like normal tea, but Earl Grey is very fragrant and pleasant. I don't think it would suit you hardened old cuppa-lovers as a total substitute though
Asy's explanation is convincing, and depressing Shall we all have another one of these to cheer us up?
Oh no! so I'll have to go looking for another planet to get a decent cuppa? Now I know how Arthur Dent feltWell at least you don't have to cope with the Pope. My poor husband is stuck in a ginormous traffic jam this evening.I was bought some Earl Grey tea a while back as part of a gift. They tasted wonderful, but the nearest equivalent in Tescos were pretty awful.I see it's his Popi-iness' birthday tomorrow:
Wednesday, April 16 - Pope Benedict XVI’s 81st birthday
Meh, I wish he'd go have it someplace else. What a mess. [Asy glances about, waiting for lightning to strike....]Next Page...
