Heavy snow showers here since lunchtime and a bitterly cold northerly wind too so it's not been the most pleasant of afternoons - and this is just the start of winter 
It is not here yet, but if it has reached you and the wind is northerly it must be on the way.
Snow is here down my way - we drove down to Cheltenham at 7pm tonight past the gritting lorry - it seemed so mild and damp we thought they were being alarmist.
When we came out of Pate's at 9pm we were surprised to see it was snowing hard! all the cars were covered with a thick blanket of the stuff and we drove through a softly whirling white blizzard all the way up Cleeve Hill.
I don't think I'll ever get over that childhood thrill of seeing snow, which isn't to say that by tomorrow if it starts to affect the roads and schools and so on I won't be thoroughly fed up with it 
I have to eat my words. I woke up to about a half an inch dusting of snow this morning. I took a couple of pictures while out walking but they're not very good as the best of the snow had already melted.
teb I would love to.. but family wan t to be out in the snow! sledging we have sleet and icy rain at mo.
so a trip to a beutiful part of the world where it is warm would be fab but as i just paid £417 for car MOT and service! gack!
I cant afford it just yet!

Well we got our snow today. I was just going out when it started. We didn't get 8 inches or even 8 cm. We got about 8 flakes
I expect there will be more to come though

Heavy snow here in the Christmassy Cotswolds from 4pm onwards.
A deep thick covering of about 4 inches - will the school bus make it tomorrow?
It snowed a bit while I was at work and was a few melting ice lumps by the time I got home.
Just had the second lot of snow for this year. Between 7 and 20 flakes in all so don't need the snowplough just yet
