Cadburys are about to be taken over by Kraft if the shareholders agree.

And in my experience shareholders always agree to such things, even when I am a shareholder and vote no , which I am not  today.

Cadburys is part of life isn't, it is a sad day.

Cadbury will still be a brand name, but it will be cheese-flavoured Dairy Milk in future.

That actually made me feel a bit queasy!   :lol

I suppose Kraft may be better than taken over by Hershey's, which I thought was once mooted?

I don't like Cadbury's choc much.  The bes chocolate in the world is Thorntons (of course) and James Chocolate Mosaic, which I was given at Christmas.  Squares of milk, plain, white, scattered with nuts and fruit and other yummy things.

When Kraft made its initial bid for Cadbury it suggested that the old Fry's factory at Keynsham, that Cadbury intended to close, might be kept open for production. So the takeover may possibly be good news there; it depends whether Kraft keeps their word.
I can't see much changing in the makeup of Cadbury's products. If Kraft seek to import American style chocolate recipes to the UK and call it Cadbury's they will lose business hand over fist because the UK uses something like twice as much cocoa solids in its chocolate than America does. To UK palates, or at least to mine, American chocolate tastes rather bland and waxy.
Of course, continental Europe laughs at all this because the cocoa content of their chocolate is far higher than both.

I actually don't think I have ever eaten american chocolate.

I know I don't like European chocolate as it is too cocoaey and not chocolately enough.

When companies are taken over they always say there will be no change and then there is.
