Well some people did decide to cross the bridge anyway, I think I would have had I been at all able. The first day , fair enough , when the other bridges collapsed and it was expected to fall at any minute , people needed to keep off it for safety.

But as the days wore on and it was still there, people would have been thinking they could have crossed it and lived to tell the tale. And how annoying I can see where I need to go but it will take me three hours drive assuming I have car to drive.

Anyway it was announced that bridge crossers will indeed be prosecuted (if they survive) and motorway barriers have been brought in.  I wonder what the crime would be.

The good news is that the army can build a bridge after all and will be doing a new bridge for pedestians but not motorists
and that the trauma of all this meant the people got a chance to see the prince of wales.

I live in between several rivers, so you don't get far around here without crossing one.  Somehow, though, there are locals around here who view crossing the river as some kind of bizarre practice they wouldn't be caught dead doing.

I've actually heard people say, "Oooo I haven't crossed the river in 30 years"   :huh   Which basically means they stick in a very small area indeed.

Weird.

aaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr............they beee Strangers over therrrrrrrrreeeee............
You don't know the half of it, puss!
